Description
Students will learn to analyze suspension and steering system concerns to develop a plan for action. They will inspect steering systems for fluid levels, leaks and worn belts or hoses. They will also troubleshoot suspension systems, and learn to inspect, remove and replace their parts. Finally, they will learn to align vehicle wheels, repair tires and wheel assemblies, and their monitoring systems.
Upon course completion, students will be able to:
Identify suspension and steering system components and configurations
Identify and interpret suspension and steering system concerns, and determine needed action
Inspect and repair rack and pinion steering parts; drain and replace fluids and hoses
Inspect and test electric power steering system and diagnose needed action
Identify and repair the major components related to suspension & steering systems
Troubleshoot and repair issues with wheel alignment, wheels, and tires.
